For years, Bahadur was confined to a tiny cage, exploited for breeding, and forced to endure
unimaginable abuse. The lion who was once majestic and powerful was reduced to a
shadow of himself. His once-luxuriant mane had become matted and dirty, the sparkle in his
eyes had faded, and his mighty roar had been silenced into a whisper.
Together with Punjab Police, JFK stepped in to rescue Bahadur from the cruelty he had
suffered for so long. As our team approached his cage, Bahadur’s eyes reflected both fear
and a fragile glimmer of hope — a moment none of us will ever forget.
After his rescue, Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) took over his long-term
care, providing him with proper medical treatment, nourishing food, fresh water, and a safe
enclosure where he could finally move freely and begin to heal.
Slowly but surely, Bahadur’s strength and spirit began to return. We continue to hope and
pray that his mane regains its former glory, his eyes shine brightly once again, and his
thunderous roar echoes with the dignity he was always meant to have.
Bahadur’s story is a powerful reminder of resilience, compassion, and second chances. The
king was rescued — and his roar will never be silenced again.
